| What
you need to use skyDSL |
|
|
To use skyDSL you need, in addition to your PC, only any kind of internet
connection through an ISP, a satellite dish and a skyDSL PCI-Card
or USB-Box. The satellite dish is already included in the package
price, and you can order the skyDSL PCI-Card or USB-Box cheaply at
the same time. Ideal places for the dish are: window, balcony, terrace,
roof, garden… If you have free sight in a south, southwest direction
with a 30° elevation, or in other words, if you can from here
see the midday sun clearly, skyDSL will work.
Your PC should fulfill the following

with the priority-based system!
With the priority model from skyDSL, each user can decide in
favor of preferential service by satellite for data transfer.
In other words, if you want to download a large file at high
speed, you just shift into a higher gear that is a higher priority
(0-2) in the skyDSL control box. The requested data will then
be received with higher priority at a download speed of up to
4000 Kbps. |

| 1. The skyDSL technology:

| 2. Installation of PCI-Card
or USB-Box:
|
Before you start the installation
please unplug the power cables of your computer. For the installation
of the PCI-Card you need a free slot in your computer. Carefully insert
the card and screw it in place. If there isn't a free slot or if you
have a laptop, use a USB-Box. Connect it to your computer with the
included cable.
Connect the coaxial cable with the PCI-Card or the USB-Box.
You may now plug in the power cables again.

| 3. Installation of skyDSL software
|
Installing skyDSL on your computer
is comparatively easy.
Simply follow the single steps which will be presented to you by the
software.
|
|
|
| 4. Mounting the satellite dish
|
Point the satellite dish in a
roughly southern direction. Please use the included compass for this.
During the installation process, the skyDSL software will provide
you with more precise direction as to where the satellite dish should
point.
Now you simply need to connect the LNB (receiver on the satellite
dish) with the coaxial cable which leads to your computer, more precisely
your USB-Box or PCI-Card.

| 5. Initialization
|
Start the software and the frequency
search. After a short time the frequency search will show you the
strength of the satellite signal. Move the satellite dish very gently
until the signal is at its strongest.
